So you’ve just discovered Tally’s Ranch but you want to know how much you can expect to pay for their freeze-dried dog food?
Tally’s Ranch are one of the newer players in the pet food market and I had the opportunity to review their dog food on Skye and Copper.
I’ve already shared my thoughts on Tally’s Ranch’s pros and cons, so in this article, I’ll take a closer look at the cost of the dog food subscription plan.
I’ll also compare the cost of their freeze-dried recipes to some similar pet food brands to give you a comprehensive pictiure.

Tally’s Ranch Price

Let’s get right down to business and discuss the cost of a Tally’s Ranch subscription for Copper and Skye.
When we completed their sign-up questionnaire, I entered the age, breed, weight, and body shape of my Alaskan Klee Kai dogs.
I selected the beef recipe because, in my experience, Copper and Skye prefer this protein source over chicken (the other recipe option).
Tally’s Ranch quoted me $5.72 a day to feed their freeze-dried food to Copper and Skye (this price reflects the full cost once the 16-day trial ends). That equates to $171.60 a month or $2,059.20 a year.
Having reviewed numerous pet food brands since returning to California from the UK in 2023, the cost of my Tally’s Ranch subscription seemed fairly reasonable.
It’s more expensive than traditional pet food, such as kibble and wet food, but it’s less expensive than fresh-frozen meals or raw dog food.
How Much Does Tally’s Ranch Cost Compared To Other Brands?

Now that you have an idea of what Tally’s Ranch would charge for my Alaskan Klee Kai dogs, it’s time to compare Tally’s Ranch with some other brands.
Sundays is an air-dried dog food company who we’ve used a lot since returning to California.
I was quoted $4.32 a day to feed my mini huskies on Sundays, or $139.20 a month. As you can see that’s $32.40 cheaper than Tally’s Ranch.
Tally’s Ranch reminded me a lot of UnKibble, which is a dry dog food range created by Spot and Tango.
When I entered Skye and Copper’s details into their website, I received a custom meal plan costing $6.34 a day for their beef and barley recipe.
So Tally’s Ranch is cheaper than UnKibble. It works out as a saving of $0.62 a day or $18.60 a month.
I also checked out Open Farm’s freeze-dried range and generated a quote to compare the prices between these two brands.
Remarkably, I was quoted the same price as Tally’s Ranch: $5.72 a day for both Klee Kai dogs.
Is Tally’s Ranch Worth It?

Whether Tally’s Ranch is worth the cost ultimately depends on each dog owner’s preferences and whether their pets enjoy the food.
I would say Tally’s Ranch represents good value when compared to similar brands offering dry dog food using high-quality ingredients.
You’re paying for a custom meal plan formulated by experts, and enjoying the convenience of having the pet food shipped directly to your door.
Copper and Skye enjoyed eating Tally’s Ranch so it certainly passed the taste test with my picky Alaskan Klee Kai dog.
Having ordered from all the brands mentioned in this article, Tally’s Ranch provided a service that matched my expectations.
I liked some nice features such as the golden scooper, which is something Sundays and Open Farm don’t include in their plans.
Wrapping Up

We’ve reached the end of my Tally’s Ranch price comparison article.
You should have a good idea of their pricing based on my subscription plan and how it compares to that of some of their competitors.
Ultimately I consider Tally’s Ranch good value if you’re looking to make the switch to freeze-dried raw food.
