UnKibble Vs Ollie (2026): Which Dog Food Is Better?

UnKibble Vs Ollie: What's The Difference? Our Review

Last Updated on May 29, 2026 by Kieran Beckles

Are you trying to decide between UnKibble and Ollie? I tested both on my fussy Alaskan Klee Kai dogs to see how they compare on ingredients, recipes, texture and price, and which my picky eater approved.

UnKibble vs Ollie Quick Verdict

Both UnKibble and Ollie are excellent dog food delivery services, but they appeal to different types of dog owners.

If your priority is feeding fresh, human-grade meals and budget isn't a major concern, Ollie is the better choice.

However, if you want something more convenient, shelf-stable, and affordable without sacrificing ingredient quality, I'd personally choose UnKibble.

My dogs loved both, but UnKibble struck the best balance of nutrition, convenience, and value, making it the option I'd be most likely to buy again.

I’ve been on a journey trying to find the best human-grade dog food for my Alaskan Klee Kai dogs, who have been picky eaters with food allergies since moving back to California from the UK in 2023.

There’s no shortage of fresh dog food companies in the USA, so it can be a little confusing and overwhelming trying to decide the best dog food for your dog.

UnKibble stands out because they provide fresh dry food. They offer truly personalized meals thanks to their customized scooper. My Alaskan Klee Kai dogs really enjoyed Spot and Tango’s dry food offering.

Ollie offers fresh and dry dog food, but Skye had a more hit-or-miss reaction to it. It doesn’t have the same level of customization but costs more. You can find Ollie at local pet stores, which some pet owners may prefer.

In this comparison article, I’m going to look at two of the leading dog food delivery services in the USA at the moment: UnKibble by Spot & Tango and Ollie.

UnKibble Or Ollie: Our Pick

Let’s cut to the chase and start with the key part of our comparison article – do we recommend UnKibble or Ollie?

Well, my pick is UnKibble. I love that UnKibble uses human-grade ingredients in recipes formulated by veterinary nutritionists. So you’re getting all the benefits of a fresh-food diet in a convenient, dry dog-food format.

UnKibble provides a custom scooper to ensure Copper and Skye are eating the right amount of dog food to meet their weight goals. I’ve reviewed over 30 dog food companies, and Spot and Tango are the only ones to provide this level of personalization.

Once mealtime was over, I could pop UnKibble in the cupboard without needing to make space in my fridge or freezer. It’s much more convenient than fresh or raw dog food.

UnKibble is an affordable way to feed fresh food to dogs compared to some dog food delivery companies. It costs me $164.40 a month to feed their custom meal plan to Copper and Skye. This is a $24 price increase since 2023. It remains the cheapest of all the dog food subscription companies I’ve reviewed.

Some Alaskan Klee Kai can be picky eaters, but for the most part, Copper and Skye enjoyed UnKibble’s recipes. Ollie was less reliable with my female Klee Kai.

While Ollie offers more recipes for fresh and dry dog food, it lacks the same level of personalization. There’s no custom scooper or feeding guideline on the meal pouches.

Ollie is more expensive. I had to pay $310.80 a month for their fresh food, while their dry food cost is cheaper, but it still doesn’t beat UnKibble for price.

Neither Ollie nor UnKibble makes it easy to combine fresh and dry food recipes together. However, you could pick up Ollie’s fresh and dry food at your local pet store.

UnKibble

UnKibble is a dry food range created by the experienced fresh dog food company Spot & Tango.

They use only fresh, whole ingredients in their recipes, such as USDA-certified meat, fresh fruit and vegetables and superfoods, to provide balanced, complete dry food for dogs.

It’s worth noting that their fresh meals are formulated by board-certified veterinary nutritionists, ensuring their dry food meets dogs’ needs.

To get started with UnKibble, you’ll need to fill out their sign-up questionnaire to allow Spot & Tango to tailor their UnKibble recipes to meet the needs of your dog’s diet.

They’ll also create a customized scooper to ensure pet owners are feeding the right amount of UnKibble at each mealtime, whether your dog needs to gain or lose weight.

UnKibble offers three dry dog food recipes: beef and barley, cod and salmon, and turkey and sweet potato. We noticed they removed their chicken recipes in 2026.

Once you get your UnKibble meals, simply use the scooper to feed your dog, then reseal the bag and pop it back in your cupboard.

I decided to give UnKibble a try after reading that their human-grade dog food is 40% cheaper than fresh frozen meals. I was impressed by UnKibble’s limited-ingredient recipes for their fresh meals, using human-grade ingredients listed in clear labels.

I love that I can use the scooper to place UnKibble in my dog’s bowl, then reseal the bag and put it back in the cupboard.

Even though they weren’t fresh-frozen meals, I could still spot human-grade ingredients in Copper and Skye’s meals, with specks of green and orange.

Copper and Skye liked UnKibble much more than most kibble brands that I’ve tried. They emptied their bowls consistently in the initial weeks. Skye was slightly slower and less enthusiastic than Copper about UnKibble, but she’s a picky eater.

UnKibble claims that their dry dog food is 40% cheaper than fresh dog food meals. I paid $37.97 per week per week, or $164.40 per month, for their dry dog food.

Ollie

Ollie is a fresh dog food company that provides fresh recipes for dogs in the USA. Ollie has created fresh meals using natural, human-grade ingredients to provide pet owners the opportunity to make a positive change to their dog’s diet.

To get started with Ollie, you’ll need to fill out their sign-up questionnaire to allow the dog food delivery brand to get to know your canine companion.

Ollie only uses USDA-approved meat, fresh fruit and vegetables and other natural ingredients in vet-approved recipes.

At the time of writing, Ollie offer five different recipes – beef, chicken, turkey, lamb and pork and two baked recipes. Ollie will suggest a meal plan based on your answers to their questionnaire.

Like all dog food delivery companies, Ollie will ship your fresh meals directly to your door. Once you’ve received your fresh recipes, you’ll need to store them in the fridge or freezer. The baked recipes can go in the cupboard.

It’s important to note that Ollie’s scooper isn’t customized, unlike UnKibble’s scooper, which is made to meet your dog’s specific daily potion requirements.

Unlike most dog food brands I’ve reviewed, Ollie provides a meal container and a dog food scooper to make mealtime less messy. It isn’t a custom scooper, though.

While I’ve fed fresh food meals to Copper and Skye for years, I don’t like having half-opened meal pouches in the fridge. It can get messy. So Ollie’s meal container was much appreciated.

When I opened Ollie’s delivery box, I felt the meals looked more like pate than fresh. The meal pouches were more like a brick of dog food than fresh food. The dry food looked like regular kibble.

Copper and Skye weren’t overly interested in Ollie’s meals. They showed mild interest in their fresh food, but it wasn’t long before my Klee Kai started to turn their nose up at Ollie.

I believe Ollie is expensive. Even though they offer a custom dog food service, it’s still pricier than other pet food delivery services.

I coughed up $5.13 day (or $310.80 a month based on 30-day month) for Ollie’s meals.

We Feed Raw Vs Ollie Quick Verdict
Skye and Copper wait for We Feed Raw

We Feed Raw was a clear winner over Ollie dog food after testing both on my Klee Kai dogs.

While my mini huskies have typically enjoyed fresh dog food such as Ollie, I was blown away by Skye's reaction to We Feed Raw. It was her clear preference, and we continue to feed their frozen raw and freeze-dried food.

Skye is our picky eater, but We Feed Raw has transformed her appetite, digestion, energy levels and overall health. She's also got more energy, healthier coats, smaller stools, better digestion, and a greater appetite.

There is a difference in the price. We Feed Raw charged me $280 a month for frozen raw. Alternatively, their freeze-dried raw costs $202 a month. Ollie costs me $310 a month to feed my Klee Kai.

So, compared to Ollie, We Feed Raw's freeze-dried raw is at least $30 cheaper per month.

Wrapping Up

UnKibble (Photo: lifewithkleekai)
UnKibble (Photo: lifewithkleekai)

We’ve reached the end of our comparison article on UnKibble and Ollie.

My recommendation would be UnKibble dog food based on their limited-ingredient recipes, customized scooper, human-grade ingredients, convenient storage and price.

Most importantly, Copper and Skye enjoyed UnKibble more than Ollie. When we retested these two brands in 2026, they consistently finished UnKibble’s dry food.

I love that UnKibble has a custom scooper so it removes any guesswork at mealtime. We typically use UnKibble as a topper with their raw dog food.

How does Ollie compare to raw food?
We compare it to We Feed Raw in this article.

While Ollie offers a level of convenience in the sense that you can find their food at your local pet store, it lacks the customization of UnKibble.

But UnKibble is my overall winner when comparing these two dog food subscriptions.
