Are you looking for a collapsible dog crate for your small dog?
I know from experience that it can be a little confusing and overwhelming trying to figure out the best options for you and your dog.
There’s no shortage of options available to buy on online retailers such as Amazon but it can be difficult to figure out the best fit for your pup.
As the owner of two small Alaskan Klee Kai, I know firsthand the important role that crates play in day-to-day life.

Whether you’re going on a road trip, taking your dog to the vet, or you need to put your dogs in a safe place when you have visitors, a crate can be a useful tool.
In this article, I’m going to take a look at the best collapsible dog crates for small dogs based on my experience testing and reviewing the options featured below.
Impact’s Collapsible Dog Crate

Impact has a reputation for creating some of the most dependable and durable dog crates in the business – and I was really impressed with their collapsible dog crate. It’s got an extremely thoughtful design with your dog’s safety paramount, followed by ultimate convenience.
The Impact collapsible dog crate can be set up in just 60 seconds (there’s a demo on their website if you need proof!). It has a sleek design that is easy to fold away, so there is minimal fuss when you need to temporarily store it away. You don’t require any tools.
It’s made out of lightweight material, but the design ensures it can withstand the most rambunctious of small dogs. Other features include a one-handed opening (which proved particularly useful when wrestling two dogs like Copper and Skye).

They’re stackable in case you decide to purchase multiple crates and has military grade handles. I really liked the diamond-shaped ventilation holes that ensure your small dog won’t damage their teeth attempting to chew the crate.
Impact has used long-lasting materials sourced within the USA to construct the crate, and it comes with a lifetime guarantee! Impact will ship your Collapsible Dog Crate already assembled, too!
The small size does have a premium price at $780 but Impact have lowered their price by $120 since we first review their collapsible crate. They also offer intermediate, large and extra large. So they’ve got a range of sizes.
PAWD Collapsible Dog Crate

Impact’s collapsible dog crate is a premium offering for dog owners who don’t mind splurging upwards of $700 on a crate, I wanted to share an affordable option. The PAWD is designed by Kindtail.
It’s a plastic dog crate but that shouldn’t worry dog owners because it’s extremely durable. I’ve tested it out on my two rambunctious Klee Kai and it held firm (withstanding even my toddler!).
The PAWD has an attractive design which meant Yasmin was more than happy to have it in our home. But it’s not a case of style over function. The PAWD has a lot of great features.

There’s ample ventilation, it can be collapsed neatly and stored away, it’s easy to clean and all at an affordable price.
The PAWD is priced at $139.99 for the small and $219.99 for the medium. That’s significantly cheaper than the Revol by Diggs and Impact’s collapsible dog crate.
If you’ve got a dog that weighs under 25lbs, the PAWD is a great option. However, dog owners who’ve got an anxious dog may want to invest in one of the metal crates featured.
Diggs’ Revol Dog Crate

It was a difficult choice between Impact’s Collapsible Dog Crate and Diggs’ Revol Crate, but I gave the Revol top spot because it represents better value for money.
Diggs has created the Revol to be attractive on the eye so you can happily place it in your main living space and ensure your dog has a safe den if they need some time to chill out.
It’s still easy to collapse (it takes less than 20 seconds which is quicker than Impact’s offering), and it comes with a carrying handle and wheels, which makes it easy to transport if you and your small canine companion like to keep on the move.

Diggs were inspired by baby industry quality standards in creating the Revol Dog Crate. They take your dog’s safety seriously, as highlighted by their diamond-shaped mesh design and solid single-piece frame to help prevent injury to jaws and paws.
There’s a useful ceiling hatch to give you access from above to your dog if they’re in the back of the car. There’s a garage-style entrance to make life easier for old or injured dogs. You’ve also got an entrance at the front.
Diggs have raised their prices significantly since our initial review. The small Revol is priced at $600 (an increase of $225) and the medium costs $799 (an increase of $325).
Wrapping Up

We’ve reached the end of this review of the best collapsible dog crates for small dogs.
If you have a big budget to invest in a premium crate, I would recommend the Impact dog crate after seeing how comfortable Copper and Skye are in the crate.
However, if you want a more affordable selection, you can’t go wrong with the PAWD collapsible crate by Kindtail. It’s a functional crate at a great price!
It’s easy to set up and close. I like the high quality of the materials used, the thoughtful diamond-hole design and how quickly it can be collapsed.
If money is really tight and you need a temporary fix, you won’t go wrong with Amazon Basics Foldable Metal Wire Crate.
