Sundays Vs Ziwi Peak (2026): Which Air Dried Dog Food Is Better?

Sundays Vs Ziwi Peak (2026) Which Air Dried Dog Food Is Better

Last Updated on May 13, 2026 by Kieran Beckles

I put Sundays For Dogs and Ziwi Peak to the test with my Alaskan Klee Kai dogs in my search for the best air-dried food. In this comparison, I discuss ingredients, price, and my Klee Kai’s verdict.

Sundays Vs Ziwi Peak Quick Verdict
Skye and Copper wait for Sundays

If you want a custom meal plan as part of an affordable subscription, Sundays would be my choice.

My Alaskan Klee Kai preferred their air-dried recipes over Ziwi Peak. We consistently fed Sundays to Skye and Copper for over three years, and we saw benefits in their energy, coat and overall well-being.

Ziwi Peak offers greater convenience and flexibility because you can find their air-dried food at your local pet store. But it lacks the customization of Sundays.

Overall
Purely because of how long Sundays kept my Klee Kai happy, I'd recommend starting with their air-dried food. But these are two good options if you have a picky eater.

Use LIFEWITHKLEEKAI to save 30% off your first box.

There’s so much choice when it comes to selecting dog food, so you’d be forgiven for getting a little overwhelmed trying to find the best dog food.

You can check out dog food reviews, but every pet is different. I know that firsthand, seeing as I’ve got a picky eater called Skye and a food-motivated dog called Copper.

Sundays is a great choice if you’ve got a picky eater like me. I appreciated having a custom meal plan that was set on autopilot to deliver every month.

However, Ziwi Peak is more convenient because you can find it at your local pet store, and you’re not tied into a subscription plan if that’s something you oppose.

Ultimately, my preferred choice is Sundays because that’s the one that satisfied my picky eater, Skye. It was the biggest factor in my decision.

Sundays For Dogs or Ziwi: Who Do We Recommend?

Sundays Vs Ziwi Peak (2026) Our Pick
Sundays Vs Ziwi Peak (2026) Our Pick

If you’re already familiar with these two brands and want to cut right to the chase, we’ll start with our recommendation.

Well, my preference, and more importantly, Skye and Copper’s preference, is Sundays For Dogs. They were a big hit with my fussy Alaskan Klee Kai dogs.

I really liked the all-natural recipes for air-dried food created with professional advice from veterinarians. You can feel great knowing your dog is eating a diet made with high-quality ingredients rich in nutrients and vitamins, fit for human consumption and formulated by experts.

Unlike Ziwi, Sundays tailors your dog’s food to meet their specific needs, whether you’ve got a dog who needs to gain weight, lose weight or just maintain.

Sundays has a jerky-like texture. I’m convinced Copper and Skye considered Sundays more like a treat than dinner. They particularly loved the beef and chicken recipes.

Considering Copper and Skye were eating tailored dog food with 90% meat content shipped direct to my door, I felt the $218 monthly price was reasonable.

Ziwi Peak is available in stores, and when I followed their feeding guidelines, I ended up paying just over $200 to get enough bags to last me a month.

So Ziwi Peak is slightly cheaper, but you don’t get a custom meal plan. So that’s something to keep in mind. Some pet owners may prefer grabbing their dog’s food at the pet store.

If you go with either brand, you’ll be adopting a healthier, all-natural approach. My dogs preferred Sundays, but I’ve used Ziwi Peak as a topper with success.

But my pick would be Sundays for Dogs based on my experience feeding their food to Copper and Skye. Their air-dried food consistently kept my picky Klee Kai happy.

Who is Sundays For Dogs?

Sundays For Dogs has emerged as one of the leading providers of air-dried dog food in the USA. Their food is made from high-quality ingredients, such as USDA beef, and includes fresh fruit and vegetables.

Their air-dried dog food is gently dehydrated to lock in all the nutrients before their recipes are packed in a box and shipped to your door. Their custom subscription service brings convenience.

You can store your dog’s Sunday food in the cupboard rather than clearing out your fridge or freezer. Even though it’s shelf-stable, Sundays’ jerky-like food is all-natural (and almost seems fit for human consumption, using high-quality ingredients).

Sundays’ dog food comes in three different recipes: beef, chicken and turkey. I’d love to see more recipes added to their menu because I know Skye likes different proteins. Ziwi Peak has six recipes.

I decided to start with this dog food company after reading lots of Sundays dog food reviews online. I wasn’t disappointed. My dogs loved Sundays, and even my picky eater seemed content with the variety of recipes. love it even more.

Skye consistently finished her Sundays food after we gave it a try. We ended up sticking with their air-dried food for over 18 months because Skye enjoyed their beef and chicken recipes so much.

Sundays have increased in price over the years. We paid $140 in 2023 and $184 in 2025. However, a current Sundays subscription for Copper and Skye would cost us $218 a month. That’s a big increase.

Dog owners who don’t want the hassle of making space in the freezer for good dog food, who don’t want to fuss around defrosting meal pouches, and who want to save money but still feed healthy will appreciate Sundays.

Who is Ziwi Peak?

Ziwi is another dry dog food company that offers dog owners the chance to feed human-grade food as a healthier alternative to traditional kibble.

Unlike Sundays, Ziwi originated in New Zealand before its shelf-stable dog food was shipped around the world to help dogs everywhere. So that’s one big difference between their dog foods.

Ziwi offers a diverse range of formulas that cater specifically to each life stage. Whether you’ve got a large breed or a small breed, puppy or senior dog, or a dog with an ailment.

Ziwi boasts a great range of recipes, whether you’re looking for a beef recipe or air-dried food with wild-caught fish. They’ve got you covered. It’s worth noting they’ve also got Mackerel & Lamb, Tripe & Lamb and Venison recipes.

I liked that their air-dried dog food uses quality ingredients, but I was disappointed with the lack of customization. Since Copper and Skye have different weight goals, I prefer tailored meal plans.

However, there’s certainly less friction in Kiwi’s purchasing process than in Sundays For Dogs’. If you’d prefer to just hit purchase rather than give an air-dried dog food company details about your pup, you may prefer Ziwi.

I ended up paying around $200 to get enough Ziwi Peak to feed my mini huskies for the month.
