Are you ready to switch to air-dried dog food, but you can’t decide between Sundays For Dogs and Ziwi Peak?
There’s so much choice when it comes to selecting dog food, so you’d be forgiven for getting a little overwhelmed trying to find the best dog food.
You can check out dog food reviews, but every pet is different. I know that firsthand, seeing as I’ve got a picky eater called Skye and a food-motivated dog called Copper.
There are so many different types: air-dried, raw dog food or raw feeding, and freeze-dried (and that’s just to mention a few dog foods).
Fortunately, there’s a lot of choice if you’re searching for dehydrated dog food in the USA at the moment, so you can ditch traditional kibble in favour of high-quality food.
In this comparison article, we’ll compare Sundays For Dogs and Ziwi Peak, which are two brands that offer dry dog food but provide healthy dog food.
So, with the introduction out of the way, let’s take a look at Sundays For Dogs and Ziwi in greater detail and share our recommendation if you’re stuck.

Sundays For Dogs or Ziwi – Who Do We Recommend?
If you’re already familiar with these two brands and you want to cut right to the chase, we’ll start by giving our recommendation.
Well, my preference, and more importantly, Skye and Copper’s preference, is Sundays For Dogs. They were a big hit with my fussy Alaskan Klee Kai dogs.
I really liked the all-natural recipes of air-dried food that have been created using professional advice from veterinarians. You can feel great that your dog is eating a diet using high quality ingredients containing lots of nutrients and vitamins fit for human consumption that’s been formulated by experts.
Unlike Ziwi, Sundays tailor your dog’s food to meet their specific needs, whether you’ve got a dog who needs to gain weight, lose weight or just maintain.
Sundays has a jerky-like texture. I’m convinced Copper and Skye considered Sundays more like a treat than dinner. They particularly loved the beef and chicken recipes.
Considering Copper and Skye were eating tailored dog food with 90% meat content shipped direct to my door, I felt the $139 monthly price was reasonable.
Having said that, if you’ve got a dog with health issues or health problems, you may want to ditch kibble in favor of Sundays For Dogs or Ziwi Peak. If you go with either brand, you’ll be adopting a healthier, all-natural approach.
But my pick would be Sundays For Dogs based on my experience feeding their food to Copper and Skye.
Who Are Sundays For Dogs?
Sundays For Dogs has emerged as one of the leading providers of fresh dog food in the USA. Their food is made from high-quality ingredients, such as USDA beef, and contains fresh fruit and vegetables like apples, tomatoes, shiitake, mushrooms, broccoli and much more.
Their air-dried dog food is gently dehydrated to ensure all the nutrients are locked in before their air-dried recipes are packed in a box and shipped to your door.
You can store your dog’s Sundays’ food in the cupboard rather than having to clear out your fridge or freezer to store your dog food. Even though it’s shelf stable, Sundays’ jerky-like food is all natural (and almost seems fit for human consumption, using high-quality ingredients).
Sundays’ dog food comes in three different recipes: beef, chicken and turkey. This is perfect for pet owners with a picky eater. You can decide between their recipes, or alternatively, you can mix and match.
It’s important to point out that every Sunday For Dogs subscription is unique to you and your dog. You can check out my dedicated article on how much Sundays For Dogs costs per month.
I decided to start with this dog food company after reading lots of Sundays’ dog food reviews online. I wasn’t disappointed. My dogs loved Sundays, and even my picky eater seemed content with the recipe variety. love it even more.
Dog owners who don’t want the hassle of making space in the freezer for good dog food, who don’t want to fuss around defrosting meal pouches and want to save money but feed healthy will appreciate Sundays.

Who Are Ziwi Peak?
Ziwi is an example of another dry dog food company that offers dog owners the chance to feed human grade with a healthier alternative to traditional kibble.
Unlike Sundays, Ziwi originated in New Zealand before their shelf-stable dog food was shipped around the world to help all dogs. So that’s one big difference between their dog foods.
Ziwi offers a diverse range of formulas that cater specifically to each life stage. Whether you’ve got a large breed or a small breed, puppy or senior dog, or a dog with an ailment.
Ziwi boasts a great range of recipes, whether you’re looking for a beef recipe or air-dried food with wild-caught fish. They’ve got you covered. It’s worth noting they’ve also got Mackerel & Lamb, Tripe & Lamb and Venison recipes.
I liked that their air-dried dog food uses quality ingredients, but I was disappointed with the lack of customization. Seeing as Copper and Skye have different weight goals, I prefer going for tailored meal plans.
However, there’s certainly less friction in the purchasing process of Kiwi rather than Sundays For Dogs. If you’d prefer just hitting purchase rather than giving an air-dried dog food company details about your pup, you may prefer Ziwi.
Where To Buy Ziwi Peak?
At the time of writing, you can purchase Ziwi on Amazon. While air-dried dog food is conveniently available on the online retailer, it means your dog is unlikely to be eating air-dried dog food tailored to their specific needs.
As you’re placing an order of Ziwi through Amazon, you won’t be filling out a sign-up questionnaire that allows their air-dried dog food company to tailor your canine companion’s meals according to their daily requirements.
If you visit Ziwi’s website, they do have a feeding calculator, so you can follow those guidelines.
Wrapping Up
So there we have it. We’ve reached the end of our Sundays and Ziwi Peak comparison article.
My preference would be Sundays For Dogs because they offer customized meal plans for dogs, which is perfect if you’ve got picky eaters like me.
While Sundays don’t have such an extensive range, I found my Klee Kai dogs liked their air-dried food, consistently finishing their portions at mealtime.
