Do you need a new dog crate for your dog or puppy, and you’re thinking about the popular Revol dog crate as an option for your pet?
We use dog crates on a daily basis with our Alaskan Klee Kai dogs Copper and Skye to keep them safe when we’re not at home, on the road, and provide a place to chill out if our toddler is feeling rambunctious.
I’ve reviewed countless dog crates over the past eight years since my wife and I brought Skye home and started our social media channels and pet website.

The Revol is one of the most popular dog crates on the market, but just like any dog crate, there are some pros and cons to this Diggs product.
In this Revol review, I’m going to share my pros and cons based on using the Revol crate over the past two years with Copper and Skye.

Revol Pros
Collapsible

The Revol is probably the easiest collapsible dog crate to use. I’ve not encountered a better dog crate to use if your priority is being able to collapse the crate with ease before setting it up again easily. Diggs claim that the dog crate takes less than 60 seconds to collapse – and it really does. It takes less than 10 seconds once you get used to the mechanisms. Compared to Impact’s Coillapsible Dog Crate, the Revol is much easier and quicker to collapse. I love this feature.
Multiple entrances
If you want to be able to access your dog from multiple doors, the Revol has three entrance points. There’s the side door, garage-style door and the roof door. This is ideal if you’ve got the Revol under your desk at work, in the trunk of your car or somewhere in your home. I love having the flexibility to let Copper and Skye into the dog crate quickly, especially if someone arrives unexpectedly at the front door or my toddler is stressing my dogs.
Removable tray

The Revol comes with a removable tray. This is handy inclusion that you won’t find in Impact or Gunner dog crates. Copper and Skye shed a lot so I like having the ability to remove the tray and get rid of the dog hair or debris. If you’ve got a puppy and you’re potty training, the removable tray could be good so you can keep it clean after accidents. It’s a thoughtful feature that some of their competitors can’t claim to have considered.
Wheels
If we’re discussing features that Diggs have included but their rivals haven’t, I’d have to mention the handle and wheels. This makes it convenient to move the Revol once it’s collapsed (or even if it’s assembled). You grab the handle and can wheel the crate into a different room or to your car.
Unique design

The Revol gets a lot of love from pet owners online for the unique design. It does fit more seemlessly into a bedroom or living room with its aesthetic design. It doesn’t look like a traditional wire crate that you can buy on Amazon. However, I do prefer the design of Impact’s crates because they fit with the black and white decor in our home. It ultimately comes down to personal preference.
Competively priced
Diggs can claim to have the best-priced premium dog crate in the market. Impact’s dog crates tend to cost upwards of $800, while the Gunner’s dog crates starts at around $600. The Revol starts at $375 for the small size and increases to $675 for the largest crate. I consider that good value. If you’ve got a decent budget but you don’t want to shell out near $1k for a dog crate, the Revol is a good halfway point.
Revol Cons
Garage-style door scared my dogs

Copper and Skye did feel comfortable in the Revol for the most part, but they never liked entering the crate through the garage-style door. They were extremely hestitant to enter and appeared uncomfortable when I left the garage-style door open knowing that it was above their heads. I didn’t notice any hesitancy when they entered through the side door.
More expensive than basic crates
I’ve heaped praise on Diggs for their pricing when compared to Gunner and Impact dog crates, but the Revol is still pricey. You can easily find cheaper options on Amazon for less than $200 or even $100. I wanted to provide a balance verdict on the price. If you’re working with a tight budget, or you’ve just got your dog and you’re struggling with vet costs, you may prefer to go budget and save for a premium dog crate.
Better crates for car travel

If you’re planning to use your dog crate for a lot of travel, or you’re a pet owner who travels a lot, there’s better dog crates for using in a car or truck. I’ve only ever used the Revol in my Tesla Model Y when I’m going to the vet five minutes down the road or a local hiking spot. I prefer to use their Enventur or Impact crate if it’s a longer car journey.
Wrapping Up

So there we have it! I’ve reached the end of my article looking at the pros and cons of the Revol dog crate.
I like a lot of things about the Revol, such as the collapsible feature, multiple entrances, ease to keep clean and design. However, there are some drawbacks.
