Are you ready to ditch traditional dog food in favor of a fresh approach, but you can’t decide between Ollie and We Feed Raw?
Since returning to the USA from the UK in 2023, we’ve been on a journey to discover the best dog food for Copper and Skye after ending our subscription with my Alaskan Klee Kai’s fresh dog food service back in England.
In my research into the best dog food delivery companies operating in the USA, I came across Ollie’s fresh food and We Feed Raw’s raw meals, and I decided to give both of these human-grade dog food brands a try.
In this article, I will share my insights into Ollie and We Feed Raw, based on my experience with these two pet food brands, explaining how they work, and provide my verdict.
We Feed Raw Or Ollie: Our Pick

Let’s cut to the chase. Do we recommend We Feed Raw or Ollie? We’d recommend We Feed Raw over Ollie based on our experience.
We Feed Raw offers healthy dog food in the shape of raw meals containing USDA-quality organ meat, which a PhD nutritionist formulates to ensure their pet food is balanced and complete.
While I wasn’t sure how Copper and Skye would react to raw meat, I’d say this was Skye’s favorite dog food delivery company of all the brands that I’ve currently reviewed in the USA.

We’ve been giving her We Feed Raw meals for nearly six months at this stage, and she still hasn’t shown any fussiness at mealtime. We see mealtime excitement most days, and we always see clean bowls.
If you’ve got a fussy eater like me, you’ll appreciate what a relief it is to find human-grade dog food that your dog loves eating. Skye has more energy, better digestion (with consistent and firm stools), and no skin issues since we made the switch to We Feed Raw.

Not only did my Alaskan Klee Kai love We Feed Raw, but it was cheaper than Ollie and competitively priced compared to other dog food delivery companies.
While I had reservations about raw feeding due to the perceived hassle and mess of handling raw food containing organ meats, We Feed Raw’s meal packets made it easy and simple to empty the contents into Copper and Skye’s bowls. They’ve also go a freeze-dried range if you prefer to stick with dry food.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend We Feed Raw based on our positive experience. As I write this dog food comparison article, we continue to feed We Feed Raw alongside this air-dried tasty topper.
We Feed Raw

We Feed Raw is a raw dog food company that provides pet owners with the option to feed a raw food diet in an affordable and convenient way, removing much of the hassle associated with raw meat.
We Feed Raw only uses fresh and quality ingredients in their recipes, and their raw food meets the standards set out by the American Feed Control Officials.
We Feed Raw is perfect for picky eaters because they offer six raw recipes: beef, chicken, lamb, pork, turkey and venison.

To get started with We Feed Raw, you’ll need to create a meal plan through their website, answering key questions about their age, breed, activity level and health.
Once We Feed Raw has learned about your dog’s individual nutritional needs, you’ll get a suggested raw food diet to ensure your furry friend is eating balanced and complete raw dog food.
You can tinker with how often you want to receive your raw food deliveries, which will affect the price, while their raw meals are priced differently based on the protein.

We Feed Raw offer free cold shipping to ensure your raw dog food arrives frozen and ready to store in your freezer, apart from a few meals that you can keep thawed in the fridge.
In your first box, We Feed Raw will provide feeding instructions to ensure you get your pet’s portions just right. It’s as simple as cutting open the packet and squeezing it into your dog’s bowl.
Skye is a fussy eater, and her inconsistent eating habits have resulted in many stressful days and numerous visits to the vet because she’s not eating.

For the first time in a long time, Skye showed genuine mealtime excitement as she jumped up on me to get to her raw dog food before demolishing her raw diet before licking the bowl.
It was quite astounding. If you’ve got a picky eater, you’ll understand the relief when you see your dog finally tuck into some food that they really love.
In 2025, We Feed Raw introduced a freeze-dried range to cater to pet owners who prefer to feed dry food. They offer beef and chicken freeze-dried recipes.
We’re currently paying just over $270 a month as part of our We Feed Raw subscription plan.
Ollie

Ollie is a fresh food company that has been providing balanced and tailored meals to dogs in the USA for the past 10 years or so.
Having previously written an Ollie Dog Food review when I lived in California between 2017 and 2019, we decided to see how their human-grade dog food had progressed in the six years we were living in the UK.
Ollie has expanded their range of recipes, which was encouraging as a dog owner with a picky eater. They’ve got five fresh recipes and two baked recipes. They’ve got beef, chicken, turkey, lamb, and pork recipes. Ollie offers beef and chicken recipes within their baked range.
Ollie’s recipes are formulated by a veterinary nutritionist using human grade ingredients of a high nutritional value before being tailored to ensure dogs get to enjoy customized meal plans.

To get started with Ollie, you’ll need to fill out their sign-up questionnaire, which will ask questions about your dog’s diet at the moment, your dog’s health and more to allow their new food to be tailored to their specific needs.
Once you’ve got a meal plan, you can stick with Ollie’s recommendation or decide which meals your pets will like the most. Your first delivery will be a starter box to aid a smooth transition process.
They offer a full fresh plan, a half-pack plan and half fresh plan. Effectively, you can feed 100% fresh, combine their fresh and baked dog food or feed 50% Ollie alongside your current dog food. This will affect the price of your meal plan.
Having previously written an Ollie dog food review, I was interested to see how their service had evolved since we were first introduced to their pet food almost seven years ago.

It was great to see Ollie offer both fresh food and baked food recipes to cater to dog owners who like to feed varied dog food to their pets.
Ollie’s human-grade dog food appeared much more appealing, with simple packaging that featured a clear ingredients label on the front, allowing you to see what ingredients go into your dog’s food.
I was impressed when I received my first Ollie dog food delivery. There was a meal container and scooper included in the box to make feeding their healthy dog food a less messy experience. However, it wasn’t clear how the pre-portioned element of the dog food service worked.
My Alaskan Klee Kai had mixed reactions to Ollie’s dog food. Copper was happy to eat all the recipes, usually finishing his meals and enjoying all the nutrients. Skye, on the other hand, was picky.

Like some small dogs, she can be picky with her food, and she had a few bites but rarely finished her bowl, leaving Copper to swoop in and snap up leftovers if in the mood.
We gave Ollie a try for a couple of weeks, but we ended up moving on to The Farmer’s Dog before discovering how much Skye liked raw dog food.
Ollie’s meals cost me $7.32 a day (or $219.60 a month based on 30-day month).
Wrapping Up

We’ve reached the end of our We Feed Raw and Ollie dog food comparison review.
Our pick would be We Feed Raw due to Skye’s unprecedented reaction to the raw meals from this dog food delivery company.
We found their meal plans easy to create, their deliveries reliable, their meal packets easy to store and simple to serve, and my dogs devoured their meals consistently.
