We Feed Raw Or Ollie: Our Pick

Let’s cut to the chase. Do we recommend We Feed Raw or Ollie? We’d recommend We Feed Raw over Ollie based on our experience.
We Feed Raw offers healthy dog food in the shape of raw meals containing USDA-quality organ meat, which a PhD nutritionist formulates to ensure their pet food is balanced and complete. After reviewing over 30 brands, the PhD nutritionist’s input stood out. I haven’t seen this with other brands.
While I wasn’t sure how Copper and Skye would react to raw meat, I’d say this was Skye’s favorite dog food delivery company among the brands I’ve tested and reviewed.
We’ve been giving her We Feed Raw meals for over 18 months, and she still hasn’t shown any fussiness at mealtime. We see mealtime excitement most days, and we always see clean bowls. We’ve seen other benefits, such as improved digestion, firmer stools, and increased energy.

If you’ve got a fussy eater like me, you’ll appreciate what a relief it is to find human-grade dog food that your dog loves eating. Copper and Skye have healthier coats and less tear stains since we made the switch to We Feed Raw.
Not only did my Alaskan Klee Kai love We Feed Raw, but it was cheaper than Ollie and competitively priced compared to other dog food delivery companies. We Feed Raw cost us $280 for frozen raw or $202 for freeze-dried raw. Ollie, on the other hand, was more expensive at $310 per month. That’s a monthly saving of at least $30.
While I had reservations about raw feeding due to the perceived hassle and mess of handling raw food, including organ meats, We Feed Raw’s meal packets made it easy to empty the contents into Copper and Skye’s bowls. They’ve also got a freeze-dried range if you prefer to stick with dry food.
Ollie requires freezer space if you opt for their fresh dog food. Just like frozen raw, you’ll have to deal with thawing of food, meal containers in the fridge, and some meal prep. Considering that there’s little difference in convenience but a big difference in my Klee Kai’s reaction to these brands, We Feed Raw is our recommendation.
We Feed Raw

We Feed Raw is a raw dog food company that offers pet owners an affordable, convenient way to feed a raw diet, removing much of the hassle associated with raw meat.
We Feed Raw uses only fresh, high-quality ingredients in its recipes, and its raw food meets the standards set by the American Feed Control Officials. As I mentioned above, their recipes are formulated by a PhD animal nutritionist, whereas most other pet food brands claim their food is “vet formulated”.
We Feed Raw is perfect for picky eaters because they offer five raw recipes: beef, chicken, lamb, pork, and turkey. When we updated this review in 2026, we noticed venison is no longer on their menu. They’ve also got two freeze-dried raw recipes: beef and chicken.

Here's our indepth review.

To get started with We Feed Raw, you’ll need to create a meal plan on their website by answering key questions about your dog’s age, breed, activity level and health. You’ll get a suggested raw food diet to ensure your furry friend is eating balanced and complete raw dog food.
We Feed Raw offers free cold shipping to ensure your raw dog food arrives frozen and ready to store in your freezer. In your first box, We Feed Raw will provide feeding instructions to ensure you get your pet’s portions just right. We were able to split an 8oz meal pouch between Copper and Skye daily.
Skye is a fussy eater, and her inconsistent eating habits have led to many stressful days and numerous vet visits because she’s not eating. We’d have to take her to the vet, they’d prescribe anti-nausea medicine, and tell us to cook chicken and rice.
What are the benefits to We Feed Raw?
Here are five we discovered.

For the first time in a long time, Skye showed genuine mealtime excitement as she jumped on me to get to her food, then demolished her portion and licked the bowl clean. Usually, she’d allow Copper to finish her food. This wasn’t the case with We Feed Raw. She was protective of it.
It was quite astounding. If you’ve got a picky eater, you’ll understand the relief when you see your dog finally tuck into some food that they really love. Not only have We Feed Raw transformed Skye’s appetite, but it’s given us peace of mind and saved us money on vet bills.
Our current price is $280 for frozen raw and $202 for freeze-dried raw. Their frozen raw subscription is expensive, but it’s competitively priced when you compare it to Ollie, Nom Nom, The Pets Table and Spot and Tango. Their freeze-dried raw price is more in line with other dry food options, such as Sundays For Dogs.

Ollie

Ollie is a fresh-food company that has been providing balanced, tailored meals to dogs in the USA for the past 10 years or so.
Having previously written an Ollie Dog Food review when I lived in California between 2017 and 2019, we decided to see how their human-grade dog food had progressed over the six years we had been living in the UK. We initially wrote this review in 2024 but updated it in 2026.
Ollie has expanded its range of recipes, which is encouraging for a dog owner with a picky eater. They’ve got five fresh recipes and two baked recipes. They’ve got recipes for beef, chicken, turkey, lamb, and pork. Ollie offers beef and chicken recipes within their baked range.
How does Ollie's dry food compare to Sundays?
We compared their dry food plans here.
Ollie’s recipes are formulated by a veterinary nutritionist and are supposedly tailored to your dog’s needs based on your answers to the signup questionnaire. However, I couldn’t discern the difference between Copper and Skye’s food.

What I like about Ollie’s approach to dog food subscription is the array of plans. You can choose between a full fresh plan, a half-pack plan and half fresh plan. Effectively, you can feed 100% fresh, combine their fresh and baked dog food or feed 50% Ollie alongside your current dog food. This will affect the price of your meal plan.
Having previously written an Ollie dog food review, I was interested to see how their service had evolved since we were first introduced to their pet food almost seven years ago. They’ve definitely improved it from a dog owner’s perspective with the differently priced plans.
It was great to see Ollie offer both fresh food and baked food recipes to cater to dog owners who like to feed varied dog food to their pets. However, my Klee Kai have been pretty consistent in their response to Ollie’s food.
Ollie or The Farmer's Dog?
Discover which my Klee Kai preferred.

I was impressed by my first Ollie dog food delivery. The box included a meal container and a scooper to make feeding their healthy dog food a less messy experience. However, it wasn’t clear how the pre-portioned element of the dog food service worked.
My Alaskan Klee Kai had mixed reactions to Ollie’s dog food. Copper was happy to eat all the recipes, usually finishing his meals and enjoying all the nutrients. Skye, on the other hand, was picky. She’d shown interest for a couple of weeks before leaving food in her bowl.
Like some small dogs, she can be picky with her food, and she had a few bites but rarely finished her bowl, leaving Copper to swoop in and snap up leftovers if in the mood.
When I first reviewed Ollie in 2023, their fresh food cost me $219.60 a month. However, my fresh food subscription cost had risen to $310 by the time I updated this comparison article in 2026. That’s a $90 increase in three years.

I don’t think there’s much difference between Ollie and We Feed Raw in terms of convenience. Ollie’s fresh food and We Feed Raw’s frozen raw both require cold storage and defrosting. However, they’ve both got dry food options. Ollie offers baked food, and We Feed Raw offers freeze-dried food. They’re shelf stable.

In my experience testing these two brands, We Feed Raw did more to improve my Klee Kai’s digestion and stool quality. They had smaller, firmer stools, and a regular potty routine. Every dog is different, and this is just my experience.
Wrapping Up

Copper and Skye have better digestion, healthier coats, more energy, firmer stools and less tear stains. We Feed Raw has given us more peace of mind and saved us money on vet bills.
